Clean up begins

Oh Lordy, my body aches from my head to my toes. Lol. I have probably ruined my favorite red boots as well, but tennis shoes with mesh was no match for all those briars.

Now you would think all that fire would have burned at least a lot of the little bushes and pine saplings but oh no!!  I have cut down what seems like thousands of bushes and pine trees.

The husband has been on the big chainsaw cutting down the bigger trees. Now you ask what have we done with all that brush?  We dragged it down the hill where it is in big piles to either be burned or hauled away. So we have walked up and dragged down the hill about a million times.

There are still about a dozen big pine trees to be cut down also. Then we will have to deal with the stumps. No, we are not even close to starting the build but we will get there.

The pictures show what the spot looks like now that the cabin will be built on, one of the brush piles, and the beginnings of the road being built.

I think this is grand progress for 3 days.

Happy day to you all!  Now...

Fire!!!

Wow. We have accomplished a lot this weekend.

With the help of Riverton Rose Trail Volunteer Fire Dept. Aka Dwight and Ken we burned the 3.4 acres today.  Of course Margaret was a tremendous help also. She is a true friend always. She helped watch the fire, made trips to get things that were needed, just anything she was asked or whatever she thought was needed. A big thanks to Margaret, Dwight, and Ken!!!  Now....

More bulldozer work

Yes!! The bulldozer got back on our land this afternoon. He got the road widened and the rest of the fire break finished. Several trees had to come down and more will have to come down. But it is looking better. A few places are still pretty wet but hoping some if it will dry up now that it can get air and sun. Dan was the man today.

Goodnight and Got Things To Do :)

And the bulldozer...

Well the bulldozer showed up Thursday morning...
That's it...right beside all that smoke. He liked about an hour finishing what we needed done right now; to be able to burn all the underbrush out; when the water pump went out. :(. Yes I was very sad. Of course it came a storm Thursday night so even if they got it fixed Friday it would be to wet in there. It is now Saturday and we are hoping the bulldozer is fixed and it is dry enough to get back in there this afternoon.

Have a great day while I have

New crochet items

I have made 2new crocheted items this week plus another owl hat.
First, Stork Pouch Photography Prop

Next is a Camo hunters hat with tied up earflaps fir daddy's little hunter

I had a few owl hats in the works so this one I decided to put eyelashes on
Just thought it would be more girly and not in a pink or purple.

I am working on a few items to donate to the local fire department for their annual silent auction. Really excited to get to help them out.

Catch you later,

Alabama land

See that big pili of trees and brush?

My husband and I have recently purchase some land beside the campground we camp in. A lot of red tape in Alabama but we have finally closed and started working to clear for the road. The county was super fast at coming to put in the culvert.

Yesterday we cut down roughly 25 trees and numerous saplings, briars, and vines. I so hope the rain holds off so the bulldozer can get in there this week. However it is not looking too promising.
This is about what it looked like before. Just a little more dense. I forgot to take the before picture. Shame in me.

This is what it looks like today. Much better I would say. I know it will be a long process but I am so ready to get my cabin built. I am going to try to keep my blog updated on the progress. That is if I can remember to take the photos when I need to. Have a happy day and....

Snowy and cold

Today started out with rain changing to sleet changing to snow and now back to rain. It has been cold but that makes the perfect combo for creating something. This is my creation today.
Now I am working on a little girl hat similar to this one. Have a great day and stay warm.

Striped braided tassel hat with matching diaper cover

I was sent a photo of a similar hat and decided to create my own with a matching diaper cover. I just love it.

This will be adorable for baby portraits.

Mermaid tail

Decided to try my hand at making a Mermaid tail with a little starfish top.

I also made a blanket that can be used with the mermaid or the colorful owl hat I made.

Hello again!

It has been a while since I have posted on here. I think I will try it again.

I have been trucking with the hubby. I am going to have some stories for you in that subject.

We have been seeking to buy land close to the campgrounds that we have been in for the last 13 years. The place my husband wants to live out our so called "Gokden Years". Which I can tell you now has become a reality. Yay!!

I have been crocheting up a storm since the first of November. First I made a double afghan for my youngest sons girlfriend. That's all she wanted for Christmas so I couldn't let her down. Then for my 4th grandchild that is on the way. It is a girl by the way. Her name will be Klaire.

Below are the outfits I will put her in for her newborn photo session:

Minnie is my daughters favorite.

And last but not least, my fav Roll Tide

I think these three will be enough. Lol!

I also made an owl hat for my cousins grandson.

So that is just a few things I have in my inventory right now.

I am trying to think of cutesy name for my crocheting, sewing, kraft business. So if u have any ideas throw them at me.

Hope you each have a marvelous day and God bless. Now Got Things To Do ;)
