Crazy busy week!

Wow, I feel like I have been in a constant run all week. Monday was a day spent in the Shoals at every antique/thrift/flea market we could find looking for something unique for my vanity. Then on top of the hill to put a little more tin on the ceiling.

Tuesday we had to get taxes done yuk!  Then Home Depot, hobby lobby, lowes, and mayers. Back to the top of the hill to unload and get a little more done before our big flashlight in the sky went out. ;)

Wednesday was a Booneville trip to 4 flea markets. Found some cute stuff but not exactly what I was looking for. Then back on top of the hill to finish the ceiling tin. Yay! We got the Second loft framed and floored also.

Today, painted some trim for the kitchen, put polyurethane on some craft/bedroom #2 trim, carpeted the loft, set the loft (thanks Micah, John, Buddy, and Johnny), and put in one air conditioner.

Tommorrow back to the Shoals to a store that wasn't open. By jingles I am finding me something to use for my vanity tomorrow.  Why am I having so much trouble with the vanity you ask?  Because I don't want just a regular vanity. I want some that is different or something that I can redo to be like I want. I know I am just adding stress to myself but hey, this us the last build for me....I hope! So I want what I want and can afford. For those that know me, know that I am pretty frugal so that poses yet a whole other stress level. :). I wanted a clawfoot tub to start with; well, I just wasn't willing to give up that much of my budget for one. Have you priced those things? Geez! Haha!

This picture shows the ceiling and the loft over the bathroom and closet.

This picture is dark because it was about 6:30 but maybe u can see the ceiling is done and the a/c in craft/bedroom#2.

We are getting there but have a long way to go.

Baby it's cold...

Good morning!! It is cold again. Actually, even though the temp was in the 50's yesterday, it was cold with that north wind blowing. It is around freezing this morning with lower morning temps to come in the next few days. I am so ready for 80 degree weather. But I guess Mother Nature is not ready to grant my wish just yet.

We have made so many trips to building supply stores the last two weeks my friend thinks he should buy stock in them. Lol!

One loft is finished. Ronnie put the carpet down while Garry was putting up the temporary stabilizers for it to sit on before it is secured.

That baby was heavy. Thankfully we have some great friends that helped out with that task. Thanks Ronnie, Donny, Johnny, and Buddy!
This is the loft sitting in the kitchen floor. It is 8x14 and went up over the craft/bedroom #2. That room is almost finished. We like laying the floor, trimming, and building the door.

The kitchen has all the wallboard up and half the ceiling. Garry is going after more ceiling today.

I am saving photos of our bedroom and my bathroom progress until complete. They are going to be my favorite rooms.

Y'all have a great day, as well as a fabulous week.

What a day...

Got started early this morning. Made the trip to get wall board for 2 rooms and receptacle and switch boxes. We had success on the 2 wall boards but still no ceiling material. Oh and wouldn't you know it; we started back and it starts raining. Only a fine mist most of the way but got a little hard at one time. Gee, it wasn't suppose to rain, at all!  I was afraid we might have a problem getting up the hill but we made it fine.

Oh Lordy, unloading was a chore. Those 4x8 foot sheets of wall board were HEAVY!!  I got my exercise early this morning. Lol!

We got one wall paneled in the craft/bedroom #2 before Uncle Jerry showed up. He pretty much took over for me. I got to assume the roll I do best; supervisor. ;). Did I mention gopher also? Yes, those are my two perfect jobs. By 2:30 the craft/bedroom was complete. It was time for lunch.

After lunch we will be start the kitchen. There are a lot of electrical boxes in the kitchen. I must tell you we did mess up a few times but recovered without much waste; I think. I called it a day for us. When you start making mistakes it's time to call it a day.

This is what we picked out for the craft/bedroom

And this is the wall board in the kitchen.
I just love them both!!

Now if we can decide on the ceiling and our bedroom, we will be like pigs in sunshine.

So that's our progress for today

Progress...

Well, it was so cold today, I forgot to take a photo of our progress. :(.

All interior walls are up, the whole building insulated, and all the wiring pulled except for the stove. The only construction we like in this part are the two lofts and we have to run the plumbing. We are waiting on my buddy Tommy to assist in the plumbing.

In the morning we are going after electrical boxes, receptacles, and switches, wall board, stove wire, and try to find something we both like for the ceiling. This is one part I dislike about building. Everything I like we can't afford or we would have a couple of million dollars in a small house; so the hubby says. Everything the hubby likes everybody else has and I do not want what everybody else has, I want something unique or at least different. Like when we built the room at the camper I have a wall covered with old tin and framed out with cedar. An ideai got off Pinterest if a fence built similar.
My husband thinks Pinterest should be outlawed. Lol!!!

I have pinned so many things I want in my new house.  Unique storage ideas, whimsy lighting projects, and a whole lot of things I will never have. But that's what Pinterest is for to me; dream boards; things you like, you'd like to have, or things you'd like to do. It's not about what one must have or at least not to me.

The work begins...

Finally got all the leveling and stabilizing done this morning. Now moving to the inside. We are installing 2 windows first. I have had two helpers though. My 2 best buds; Sugar Daddy Tommy ;) and Uncle Jerry. I love them both.

As soon as we get the second window in I think we will be ready to frame up a wall. Whoo hoo!!!

Things change...

It seems like around here things change like you change your underwear. Why do I say that? Because yesterday the new building was turned 90 degree. Yes messed up my house plans yet again. It was one of those oh Lordy kind of days.

It took all day.

I had the two oldest grandchildren here to help build walls and insulate. Well, we didn't get to do anything in the building. We rode the golf cart, ate a lot, they went up and down that long drive about a dozen times, played football, walked the plank, did flips, and each of them painted a frame to hang in the new house.

You can barely see them in this picture.

The youngest was asleep before 8 which is rare since they are like me, night and not morning people. Lol. Of course he didn't go to sleep the night before until after 1 a.m. and was up at 8. Kate went to sleep about 2  a.m. but we had to drag her out of bed at 10.

I had a great day with my little angels.

Oh that face!

My daughter sent me this picture of my youngest grandson today. They have been in the mountains the last few days. She said that she told him to say cheese and this is what she got. I call it his little stink eye.

He is a little stinker and so stinking funny. I can't wait to get me some loving from him in the next day or two.

This is my daughter with her family on their last trip before Klaire gets here. This Mimi thinks this is the most beautiful family in the world. ;) lol
Those oldest two are not much on giving out their loving anymore. So I have to get all I can from the little fellow.

It's looking like home...

Well, they got the building up on the hill. It's still got to be leveled but Those guys did an amazing job.  I did not want to be anywhere around when they went up that hill so I went to Iuka to get breakfast. When I got back they had it up there putting the blocks under it. Like I said it still has to be raised about 8 inches in the front to be level. Another thing I don't want to be around when done. So...we measured and chalk lined where the walls will go up for the bathroom, closet, and bedrooms, and marked where the windows and a/c will be installed. We are almost ready to get to work.

And the clearing continues...

We've had the bulldozer back on the hill the last two days... Man it's looking bare but will be ready for our building next week. Yay!!!

Diaper centerpieces,door hanger, frame

Today I have started some diaper centerpieces for the guest tables.
I think they need ribbon bows under the flowers but I will add them at the shower.

I have cut out a onsie door hanger and painted it pink.  It doesn't look great right now with just the first coat of paint in it. After the second coat I will put a Minnie Mouse head with bow and Klaire's name on it. I think it will be cute for the hospital door for her arrival.

I got the pink polka dot paper mod podged to the K.

Now it needs mouse ears and a bow
and I  finished the pink paint on the frame.
The color is really light pink. This will have a sign in it for the gift table.

Hmm..what next?

In baby mode...

Yes, I am going to be Mimi for a fourth time.  My daughter and son-in-law are on the way to their fourth child, a baby girl. Her name will be Klaire. That will make 2 girls and 2 boys. My granddaughter is so excited to be getting a little sister.

So Mimi, Mamaw, and big sister are hosting a baby shower in a month. Therefore, I am in baby mode. Minnie Mouse baby mode...lol. I am experimenting with making diaper cakes.
This is my first one...a sleeping diaper baby. There are several tutorials on YouTube so check them out.

My next attempt will be a tiered diaper cake with the crocheted Minnie Mouse hat as the topper. I would also like to try the wagon and a bassinet.

I love, love, love Pinterest. I got so many great ideas for the shower including the chocolate spoons, napkin diaper favors, using a onsie for the guest to sign, and many more.

You guessed it. For the next month I will be talking a lot about getting ready for the baby shower.
